Werewolf Fella by KV-Arts Werewolf Fella by KV-Arts
UPDATE: He won 2nd place!! :boogie:

When I read about the contest the first thing that popped into my head was werewolf! Full fursuit with muzzle, fangs, and claws. Everything is hand-sewn.

Materials:
Eyes: His "contact lenses" are painted plastic (paint the front with sharpie markers, the back with white acrylic paint). A werewolf is just not a werewolf if its eyes don't change.

Muzzle: Hand-sculpted polystyrene (knife and wood-burning tool), muslin fabric, glued on loose hair fibers, painted polymer clay for nose and fangs. It is attached to a full head harness made of muslin.

Paws: His claws are painted polymer clay and are glued into old socks. The fur was sewn around it.

Fur: Hand-sewn faux fur. And yes, this guy sheds like a sheepdog!!!

Took 1 week to sew everything together and is my first time using faux fur, making a fursuit, and mixing sculpture and fabric directly together.

Inspired by the awesome taxidermy/costume artist :iconzhon:

Indeed. And plenty of mixed reactions to the results in the comments on the article. Just craziness.

Oh WOW! You've put so much effort in! And you can barely tell it's Fella (which, for me, is the point of costumes)

Out of all the entries I've sen so far, if yours doesn't win, the judges are crazy!

Thank you VERY much!! ^_^ I'm the same way with costumes, especially werewolves. If you're going to go lycan, you have to go all the way! =D

how awesome! :D
werewolf was one of my first ideas too, but I didn't have any fur fabric...

how did you do the muzzle? is it stuffed?
and how can you undress him again?

Thanks :)

I ordered my fur from etsy.com on the Friday that the contest was announced. Waited about a week :faint:

The muzzle is polystyrene, it's like styrofoam but more compact with smaller beads. I used a knife and a wood burning tool to sculpt it. The nose is polymer clay. I covered it with muslin fabric for easier application of the fur and to create a way to attach the muzzle to Fella.
The head is a separate piece but since this is my first fursuit, and a rushed one at that, I still have to install his escape route in the back (either velcro or zipper). There is enough material for it to fit.

awesome for a first. there's another werewolf fella in the contest, but yours is cooler, because it's more realistic. :D

haha, so for the time being, fella's trapped as a werewolf? :giggle:

:lmao: Heh, yep! After the suit comes off he's going to need a whole roll of duct tape to remove the loose hairs that attached to him :dohtwo:
